Local author Caitlin DeLems will read her children's book Pitch Perfect and Persistent. This program is followed by a free lunch for children and youth 18 and younger. Caitlin DeLems enjoys piano and violin and delights in the magic of concert halls. PITCH PERFECT AND PERSISTENT! The Musical Debut of Amy Cheney Beach is her music-inspired debut picture book biography of a forgotten female artist—the unstoppable classical music composer Amy Beach! As an elementary teacher, Caitlin discovered limited books available on female composers. She has long desired to give voice to unsung women composers throughout history who fought to pursue a musical career in a male-dominated profession. Her second picture book biography—on another little-known female composer—is forthcoming. Caitlin lives with her husband in the California Sierra Nevada range where she enjoys hiking, biking, and of course always reading and creating stories for children.
